About Dr. Lovo

Dr. Eduardo Lovo did his neurosurgery residence at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, afterwards he continued his neurosurgical oncology studies at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Texas. At the beginning of 2007 when he returned to El Salvador he integrated the first Neuro- Oncological Program at the Hospital de Diagnóstico in El Salvador, under this program the Hospital de Diagnóstico rapidly acquired advanced neurosurgical technology necessary to perform tumor resections with compliance to international standards. Three years later the Hospital de Diagnóstico had experienced an unprecedented growth in the Central American region, shifting from basic neurosurgical technology to advanced Image Guided Surgery techniques, awake craniotomy surgeries with cortical mapping and recently the creation of the first International Cancer Center in the country, this Cancer Center gives support with regards to treatment to the Neuro-Oncological Program as it is the first Tomotheraphy based Radiosurgical Program in Latin America.

Currently Dr. Eduardo Lovo is head of the Neuro-Oncological Program and the Cerebrum and Spinal Radiosurgery Program of the International Cancer Center of the Hospital de Diagnóstico.
