About Dr. Eduardo Lovo

Dr. Lovo was born in San Salvador, El Salvador the 22nd of April of 1975. He graduated from medical school at the Escuela Médico Militar in México. Afterwards he graduated as a neurosurgeon in the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and finalized his studies in neuro-oncology at Johns Hopkins Medical Center, Baltimore and MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston Texas.

All through out his career initiated motivated by technological advances in neurosurgery and scientifical investigation, which has granted him awards and publications a broad. He has motivated the birth of Image Guided Surgery (neuronavegation) in El Salvador and the clinical applications of Functional Images (eloquent areas) in Magnetic Resonance and Tractography (identification of tracts inside the brain that control movement and thought). He has begun and is the current coordinator of the Neuro-Oncology Program of the Instituto de Neurociencias of the Hospitales de Diagnóstico, he is also Chief of the Neurosurgical Service of the Hospital Militar Central.

In a short time Dr. Lovo has demonstrated that highly advanced neurosurgical care for brain and spinal tumors, with fulfillment of International standards can be delivered in our country.

Dr. Lovo is truly committed in the treatment of complex disease. Giving hope in one of the most difficult illness that a patient and his family members will experience is his prime motivation.
